Nine Covid patients added to "dance cluster”

Nine Covid patients were added to the Wan Chai Starlight Dance Club “dance cluster” today after billionaire Rosanna Wang Gaw was tested positive yesterday,

The Centre for Health Protection said as of 12am today,  it has recorded 26 additional confirmed coronavirus cases – five imported and 21 local – bringing the tally to 5,518 cases.

Wang, 75, visited the Starlight Dance Club in Wan Chai last Saturday, nine patients confirmed today were related to her case.

Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said there are also over 40 preliminary cases today, where seven of them have been to the dance club in Wan Chai, showing there is an outbreak at the dance club.

There are also nine infections with unknown source today, among them were three housewives.

Those include a 59-year-old woman who lives in Block 1, Pacific Palisades in North Point and a 64-year-old woman.

There is also a 67-year-old woman who lives in Hoi Pa San Tsuen in Tsuen Wan. She had been to a birthday party at Palladium International Dance Club in Tsim Sha Tsui with over dozens of participants also at the scene.

The remaining cases of unknown sources are widespread across different districts.

The six include a 73-year-old man who lives in King On House, Shan King Estate in Tuen Mun. A 37-year-old man who lives with the 73-year-old was also confirmed infected.

A 27-year-old  steel fixer was also infected, he lives in Sik Man House in Ho Man Tin Estate, he works at a construction site at Yuen Long MTR station. A 24-year-old woman in close contact with the man was also infected.

There is also a 61-year-old woman who lives in Garden Rivera in Sha Tin confirmed infected, she works as a security guard at Block C, Greenwood Garden in Sha Tin.

A 63-year-old male taxi driver is also among the unknown infections, he lives with his family in  Po Tai House, Po Lam Estate in Tseung Kwan O.

The remaining two cases is a 49-year-old man who lives in Block 17, Laguna City in Lam Tin and a 42-year-old woman who stays at Crowne Plaza hotel in Tseung Kwan O.

The five imported cases today are returnees to the city from Pakistan, Romania, India and the UK.
