Hong Kong will switch off analog television broadcasts in another 60 days, signaling the end of an era.
When broadcasts switch to digital at midnight on December 1, free TV will not be available to those who do not have a digital TV.
As of July this year, nearly 95 percent of Hong Kong households have already switched to digital TV, while only 2.6 percent, or 68,000, households are still using analogue TVs, the government said.
The spectrum used for analogue TV broadcasting will be used up for high value-added mobile telecom services.
Digital broadcasting was launched in 2007 in Hong Kong.
