Residents living in Po Shek Wu Estate found worms in their premises.

Since December, tenants of the Sheung Shui public estate have found eggs of insects or worms in their bathroom, with the longest worm found at three centimeter.

District Councilor for Shek Wu Hui, Lam Cheuk-ting, has received 12 complaints till now. He said that the Housing Authority should be responsible for the worm infestation, stating that a similar situation also occurred in Shui Chuen O Estate in Shatin, which is one of the newly established public estates.

In reply, the Housing Authority said that they have received seven reports but failed to find any signs of worms in the flushing supply and toilet tanks. They have poured bleach in the flushing supply and toilet drain, and changed the toilet seats of the affected buildings and flats.

Officials also said that they have looked for assistance from the Water Supply Department and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
