A temporary treatment  facility at AsiaWorld Expo trade exhibitions center hall 1, has so far admitted 22 patients with coronavirus symptoms.

The Hospital Authority hopes the facility cuould help cut the waiting time for admissions at public hospitals for virus patients.

HA chief executive Tony Ko Pat-sing said the number of doctors assigned to the facility will rise to 28 in a week, from the 14 sent in on Saturday. So far, 50 nurses are assigned.

The community treatment facility admits confirmed patients, aged 18 to 60 years and with clinically suitable condition. The facility will triage patients and allow public hospitals to focus on caring the more severe patients, the HA said on Saturday.
