DAB sends out 12 teams to contest Legco election

The city's biggest pro-Beijing party, Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, announced today it will send out 12 teams to contest the Legislative Council election in September.

In particular, seven and four teams will contest for seats in the geographical constituencies and traditional functional constituencies, respectively, and one team will contest for seats in the District Council (Second) functional constituency, more commonly known as the “Super District Council.”

Party chairwoman Starry Lee and Kwun Tong district councilor Frankie Ngan will run for the "Super District Council."

For geographical constituencies, Holden Chow and Ben Chan will run in New Territories West, Gary Chan and Elizabeth Quat will run in New Territories East, Vincent Cheng and Joe Lai will run in Kowloon West and Kowloon East, respectively, and Horace Cheung will run in Hong Kong Island.

As for traditional functional constituencies, Agriculture and Fisheries lawmaker Steven Ho will seek re-election, Sham Shi Po district councilor Lau Pui-yuk will run in District Council (First), Kennedy Wong will run in Import and Export and Eric Tam will run in Social Welfare.
