Call to tighten restrictions on restaurants

The prevailing coronavirus epidemic situation in the city is as severe as in March, and there are many patients with an unknown source of infection, Hong Kong University microbiologist Ho Pak-leung says.

He believes that the government should tighten restrictions on restaurants to cut off the chains of transmission of the virus.

Partitions erected in restaurants are inadequate, he says.

He advises diners to opt for takeaways, pay attention to social distancing guidelines, and avoid high-risk locations.

Dr Leung says infections in the residential care homes will continue to rise.
