Twenty eight Taiwanese returned home late Tuesday from Turkey after that country lifted its ban on international flights earlier this month.
A Cathay Pacific flight carrying them arrived at Taoyuan International Airport at 7:48 p.m. from Hong Kong, CNA reports. The group took off from Istanbul on a Qatar Airways flight on Monday, making transit stops in Doha and Hong Kong on their way home.
The 28 Taiwanese, consisting of students studying in the country, individual travelers, and businessmen, had been stuck in Turkey since it banned all international flights in late March due to the coronavirus.
