Lau Siu-kai, the vice president of the Chinese Association, Hong Kong and Mcau Studies, says there is a growing trend of the city's younger generation being misled by separatist forces to challenge the 'one country, two systems,' principle and undermine the nation's dignity and sovereignty.

Closing the loophole is relevant and urgent at a time the US is using the SAR as a bargaining chip to contain China, he says.

Also, Ng Chau-pei, Hong Kong, NPC deputy, says the national security legislation will never adversely affect the lives of ordinary people, as it targets the action that violates China's national interest.  I think that the central government will also extensively consult the Hong Kong community about the bill during the session.
