Ocean Park future operations to be reviewedLocal | 21 May 2020 5:54 pm
The Ocean Park's operating model in the future would be reviewed, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Edward Yau Tang-wah said today, ahead of the vote on a multi-billion-dollar bailout request to keep the heavily-indebted, loss-making theme park running.
Future funding and the use of land will also be reviewed, he said today at a 5:00pm briefing.
Yau had earlier stressed the need to give the Wong Chuk Hang theme park HK$5.4 billion emergency funding.
The Finance Committee is scheduled to vote on the bailout tomorrow. The park had sought HK$10.6 billion in funding.
Yau said the park's core competency is conservation and education.
