The prosecution has withdrawn offensive weapons charges against a student at the Fanling Magistrates' Courts today. He was also awarded costs.

Go Nim-chung, 20, was accused of carrying a cutter in his backpack outside the Fanling MTR station on January 5 – the day of an approved protest against parallel trading in nearby Sheung Shui.

Speaking outside the court, Go criticized the police for targetting young people, but “turn a blind eye on blue-ribbons who carry offensive weapons.” He said he will continue to participate in lawful rallies and marches, adding that the “battle is not over.”
