Catholic church suspends masses for two weeksLocal | 13 Feb 2020 4:03 pm
The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong said today it has suspended all public masses on Sundays and weekdays for two weeks, including the Liturgy of Ash Wednesday, from Saturday until February 28.
The decision is to avoid gatherings as the next two weeks will be a crucial time to suppress the coronavirus epidemic, said Cardinal John Tong Hon, Apostolic Administrator of Hong Kong.
"At this difficult time, everyone should not panic. We must deepen our trust in God and implement our Christian love for our neighbors and all people," he told church members.
