The Center for Health Protection on Friday confirmed two more cases of the deadly coronavirus in Hong Kong, taking the total to 26.

The first involves a 58-year-old man with good past health who lives in Zhuhai. He developed fever and cough on Tuesday and returned to Hong Kong the following day. He consulted a private doctor on Thursday before seeking treatment at North District Hospital where he was admitted on the same day. He is currently in critical condition.

The man had travelled between Zhuhai and Macau for work during the incubation period and returned to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge. He  resides in Serentiy Garden in Sheung Shui with his friend, who is now in quarantine despite showing no symptoms.

The second case involves a 42-year-old man with good past health who lives in The Plazzo, Fo Tan. He had a fever and a cough on Monday and sought treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital on the same day. He is currently in stable condition.

The male patient arrived at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport from Hong Kong on January 22 for a flight to Hebei province, Northern China. He then flew from Hubei to Guangzhou on January 26 before arriving Macau the same day.

He returned to Hong Kong from Macau via ferry on Sunday. His domestic helper has been admitted to Prince of Wales Hospital with symtpoms and quarantine is being arranged for a friend who lives with him, who shows no symptoms.

The center is appealing to the taxi drivers who drove the male patients of the two cases to call the CHP hotline.

The CHP said it would report the two cases to the World Health Organization, the National Health Commission, the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, and the Health Bureau of Macau.
