A pro-Beijing alliance is expecting tens of thousands of people to take part in a rally on Sunday in support of Beijing’s latest Basic Law interpretation.

The "Anti-Independence, Support Basic Law Interpretation Alliance" is planning to gather around the Legislative Council complex at Tamar, saying the Youngspiration pair had angered "both the people and god” by insulting China.

Alliance spokesman Maggie Chan said the NPCSC’s interpretation has the widespread support of the community, adding that "the pro-independence force do not only speak, but they act in violation of the laws of Hong Kong; so it’s important for us to voice out, to protect the national security and territorial sovereignty.” -RTHK
