Drones and robots will help deliver meals and sanitize rooms in a centralized quarantine site for international travelers to open in Guangzhou city later this month.

The facility, covering 250,000 square meters and providing 5,000 separate rooms, is located near Baiyun Airport. It will launch this month after about two months of construction round the clock.

Travelers heading toward the facility can choose their rooms when they take designated transit buses. Upon arrival at the facility, they can complete check-in or check-out procedures or settle payment through its smart system.

In the room, a smart panel on the wall records travelers' temperature. It also helps connect travelers to staff or medics to help diagnosis if necessary.

There is also a video terminal that provides other educational and entertainment services. A yoga mat and training equipment are provided to travelers to help them stay physically active.

The facility will also deploy drones and robots to delivers supplies and meals to travelers' rooms. There will a small desk outside each room, where the robot will place the meals. They will also be used to sanitize the rooms to achieve contact-less smart services.

Each room is equipped with standalone air-conditioner and sewage pipes as well in order to prevent cross-infection.
