175 new local coronavirus infections in Taiwan, 19 deaths

Taiwan on Thursday reported 175 new coronavirus infections all local, as well as 19 deaths from the coronavirus disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The new infections brought the total number in Taiwan to 13,584, of which over 12,000 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first reported more than 100 patients in a single day.

The 19 who died were 11 men and eight women, in their 40s to 90s. They had died between June 8 and June 15, the CECC said.

To date, 497 people in Taiwan have died from the coronavirus disease, including 485 since May 15.
