Taiwan on Friday reported 287 new coronavirus infections, all but one of which were local infections, as well as 24 deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), CNA reports.

The new patients bring the total number in Taiwan to 12,500, of which more than 11,000 are domestic infections recorded since May 15, when the country first reported over 100 infections in a single day.

The 24 fatalities were 12 men and 12 women, in their 50s to 80s, who died between June 2 and June 9, the CECC said.

The number of deaths from the coronavirus disease in Taiwan has now risen to 385, including 373 since May 15.
