Chinese drawn to Disney's crime comedy

Disney's crime comedy film "Cruella" continued to lead the Chinese box office chart on Thursday, according to the China Movie Data Information Network, the state news agency XInhua reports.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, "Cruella" follows a young grifter named Estella, as she explores the path that will lead her to become a notorious up-and-coming fashion designer known as Cruella de Vil.

The film pocketed in around 7.17 million yuan on Thursday, the fifth day of its screening.

"F9: The Fast Saga," the latest installment in the Fast and Furious action franchise, came in second, finishing the day with 6.98 million yuan in revenue.

Sci-fi horror film "A Quiet Place Part II" ranked third on the daily chart, grossing 4.85 million yuan.
