The State Council inter-agency task force for coronavirus disease response has sent a working group to guide prevention and control efforts in eastern  Anhui province, the National Health Commission said on Monday, state media Xinhua reports.

The working group visited hospitals designated for the treatment of coronavirus patients, disease prevention and control centers, and communities under control measures.

From May 13 to 16, Anhui reported seven confirmed coronavirus disease patients, of which two were reported in the provincial capital Hefei and five others in the city of Lu'an, said the provincial health commission.

Seven non symptomatic carriers were also reported in Lu'an, all of whom are under medical observation.

Health authorities in Anhui said all of the recent infections were related to an offline training session at a photo studio in Yu'an district of Lu'an.

Lu'an has raised the coronavirus disease alert level in four residential communities from low-risk to medium-risk, the city's health commission said Monday. The city currently has six areas classified as medium-risk.

Lu'an will conduct a second round of nucleic acid testing for people in the city's main districts and in key areas until Wednesday, according to the commission.

Authorities conducted the first round of testing from May 14 to 16 in the city, during which more than 1 million samples were collected.
