Xie Feng, ex-envoy to HK, named foreign affairs deputy

Xie Feng, who previously headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Hong Kong, has been appointed as vice minister of foreign affairs, the Foreign Ministry, said, state media reported. 
He is mainly responsible for policy planning, North America and Oceania, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as translation and interpretation. 
Xie returned to Beijign in mid-January, having served in Hong Kong since 2017.
