Shanghai reported two imported patients on Tuesday but there are no domestically infected people.
The municipal health commission said one is a Chinese who left the United States on August 30 and arrived in Shanghai via the Netherlands on September 1, while the other is an Indian who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport from India on September 2.
They started to show symptoms while under quarantine in Shanghai and were later diagnosed as confirmed. The two have been hospitalized. A total of 45 close contacts have been put under quarantine.
As of Tuesday, Shanghai had reported 608 confirmed imported cases and 342 locally infected people.
