Shanghai reported eight additional imported  coronavirus paients, all of them Chinese, but there was no increase in domestic patients on Monday, the municipal health commission said Tuesday.

All of them flew in from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They had left the UAE on August 7 and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport via Sri Lanka on the same day.

They were put under quarantine on arrival and diagnosed as confirmed  after showing symptoms, according to the commission.

All close contacts of the patients on the same flight have been put under quarantine.

As of Monday, Shanghai had reported 452 confirmed imported patients and 342 locally infected patients.
