Xi assures more support for SMEs in Zhejiang visit

President Xi Jinping visited the county of Anji in eastern Zhejiang province on Monday and assured more targeted measures to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) badly affected by the new coronavirus epidemic to restart activity, state media reports. 

He visited Yucun village in Tianhuangping township and talked with local residents about what has been achieved in the village in terms of green development. 

It was not his first visit to Yucun village. On August 15, 2005, he came to the village as party chief of Zhejiang Provincial CPC Committee and proposed the concept that "clear waters and green mountains are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver."

Accordign to state medica CGTN, the village, once plagued by heavy industrial pollution, is now a national 4A scenic area renowned for its beauty and high livability. 

Xi started his inspection tour in Zhejiang on Sunday. He visited the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port and an industrial park for auto parts and molds in Ningbo to inspect the resumption of work and production. 

On Monday afternoon, Xi visited a multi-platform center for resolving social conflicts and disputes in Anji county. The center, where various departments work together, provides one-stop services for settling disputes at the grassroots level. It has received more than 6,500 people and settled 91.3 percent of their cases.
