Elderly taxi driver kills Central pedestrian

A 45-year-old man who suffered head wounds when a four-seater Toyota taxi knocked him down in Central last night as he crossed the road, died in hospital in the early hours of today.

The police said a 60-year old man was driving the Toyota taxi on Connaught Road Central towards Western district. The fatal accident happened at about 11:35pm.

As the taxi reached the junction of Connaught Road Central and Jackson Road, it had knocked down the 45-year-old man, who died at Ruttonjee Hospital at 00:30am today.
