Agent faces charges for Malaysian property decor bribe

A consultant at a realtor promoting Malaysian propoerty was charged with accepting illegal rebates of HK$42,000 for introducing a decoration company to Hong Kong flat buyers.
Wu Ka-yau, 43, property consultant of CAJ Property Investments, is alleged to have conspired with a partner of a Malaysian decoration company for him to accept over HK$42,000, for referring flat buyers to use its service.

In 2016, CAJ became an agent of a property in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which offered two types of flats for sale, namely bare flats with minimal decoration, and fully-furnished one. CAJ provided a decoration package for bare flat-buyers’ consideration.

Wu will appear at the Eastern Magistracy next Tuesday for plea, the Independent Commission Against Corruption, said.
