Nearly 7,000 arrested over protests since June

Secretary for Security, John Lee Ka-chiu, said today 6,943 people have been arrested over protests between June 9 and January 2.

Among them, 1,082 suspects have already entered into or were in the course of legal proceedings. And 338 had been released unconditionally. The cases of 5,523 people are still under investigation, including those released on bail.
