Tolo Highway fully reopened as protesters left CUHK

All lanes of Tolo Highway fully reopened before noon after being blocked off again by protesters last night.

This came after protesters set up barricades and threw debris from an overhead bridge near the Chinese University on to the key road connecting New Territories and Kowloon.

The north bound of the highway was reopened at around 11. Police and relevant departments cleared the highway from debris and shattered glass as all protesters left the Chinese University yesterday night.

Police appealed to the public engage in illegal acts that would threaten road safety, and reminded road users to still stay alert while using the highway.

As the Tolo Highway was closed down for days, the Government provided free ferry service from Tai Po to Wu Kai Sha. Long lines were seen at the pier for the ferry service this morning.
