Protesters in suits, black garb block Central in demo for five demands

Local | 15 Nov 2019 1:30 pm

Hundreds of protesters gathered on the streets of Central again today at lunchtime  – the fifth consecutive day of anti-government demonstrations in the business district.
Many office workers, who apparently had come out during the lunch hour, joined some black-clad protesters who were shouting slogans like "five demands, not one less," "liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times."
Within minutes they took over a stretch of Pedder Street in the heart of Central district.

About 500 people also gathered for demos in Tai Koo Shing in the Eastern District, and Kwun Tong.
The white collar workers have been joining protests on and off in the anti-government agitation which had been mainly student-driven at the beginning.
But this week, many office workers camed out to participate in unsanctioned rallies and blocked roads during the lunch hour.
Tear gas have been fired by riot police and several have been detained over the week.-RTHK/The Standard
