A 30-year-old unemployed man appeared in court today accused of the attempted murder of pro-Beijing lawmaker Junius Ho Kwan-yiu, RTHK reports.
Prosecutors alleged at Fanling Magistracy that Tung Pak-fai stabbed Ho with a 33 centimeter-long knife near Richland Garden in Tuen Mun on Wednesday morning.
Ho was campaigning at the time for the district council elections where he is up against the Democratic Party's Lo Chun-yu and Chiang Ching-min, who didn't declare any political affiliation, in the Lok Chui constituency.
Tung was remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to February 3.
