A day of free cultural events is being hosted this Saturday at the foyer, piazza areas and Studio Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre to celebrate the venue's 30th anniversary.

The events are being hosted by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department from noon to 5:30pm on Saturday.

In the foyer, the Cultural Centre venue partners, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Ballet and Zuni Icosahedron will present Western and Chinese music, a ballet performance, and sound and scene recreation of the former Kowloon-Canton Railway Station using advanced technology.

At the piazza areas, more than 40 dancers will perform works by acclaimed and emerging choreographers and lead visitors to discover every corner of the Clutural Centre.
In addition, "Unseen Scene," curated by artist Enoch Cheng, will be held in a backstage area.

Through music, dance, projections and other special performances, participants will be able to have a closer look at the magic behind a show.

Other programmes will include the stage and technology workshop, which will introduce the possibilities of stage technology in different ways, and the 30th anniversary exhibition "Traces of the Past and Future.'' The exhibition looks back and ahead by showcasing valuable artefacts as well as various interview videos. It reflects how the Culutral Centre works together with other LCSD performing arts venues and looks to the opening of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre.
