District poll candidate Richard Chan bailed

District Council election candidate, Richard Chan Chun-chit, accused of unlawful assembly and obstructing police in the execution of their duty, was released on HK$3,000 bail after appearing at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts today.

Chan, 47, and two other pro-democracy candidates Osman Cheng and Man Nim-chi were arrested at a rally at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay on Saturday, and are facing the same charges.

Cheng and Man were released on bail after appearing in court yesterday while Chan was discharged from hospital this morning.

Chan was ordered to not leave Hong Kong and report to the police once every week.

The case was adjourned until December 16.

Chan is running in the Lam Tsuen Valley constituency in Tai Po, while Cheng and Man are running in the On Tai constituency in Sha Tin and the Chung Ting constituency in Tai Po respectively.
