MTRC chairman visits injured passengers

The MTR Corporation Chairman, Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen, visited passengers, who were injured in the East Rail line train derailment at the Hung Hom Station, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital this afternoon. He was accompanied by CEO, Jacob Kam Chak-pui, and Corporate Affairs Director, Linda So Ka-pik.

Speaking to reporters after the visit, Auyeung apologized to the injured passengers and other passengers, and said the railway operator will investigate the cause of the accident as soon as possible to avoid the recurrence and cooperate with various government departments.

A total of eight passengers were injured in the incident, and five of them – one male and four female – were sent to hospital. Three injured passengers did not require treatment at hospital after being treated at the Hung Hom MTR station.
