Financial services sector lawmaker, Christopher Cheung Wah-fung, has told the Independent Police Complaints Council chairman, Anthony Francis Neoh, that it was Federation of Trade Unions lawmaker, Alice Mak Mei-kuen, who swore at Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor in a meeting with the pro-establishment camp on Saturday, a voice recording has revealed.

Cheung was talking to Neoh at the police watchdog's meeting yesterday, but forgot to switch off his microphone. Their conversation was recorded.

Cheung said Mak has promised her voters that the controversial extradition law amendment bill would be passed, and he commented that she bet her political career on the bill.

She definitely will not be elected,” he said.

Mak was asked about the incident by journalists this morning but said she could not reveal details of close-door meetings.
