Student unions of seven major higher education institutes announced today that they will be boycotting classes and joining the protest against the extradition bill outside the Legco tomorrow, RTHK reports.
The students are from the University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Baptist University, Education University, Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, and the Academy of Performing Arts said they will be joining the protest at the Tim Mei Avenue.
The students slammed the government, saying its “lost its sense” and said they plan to escalate their actions against the "authoritarian government which ignores peoples demand.''
They said the government is using the Taiwan murder case an excuse and once the bill is passed it will provide no protection for Hong Kong residents against being extradited to the mainland.
