Carrie Lam says HK to adhere to 'one country, two systems' in Bay Area plan

The Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said today the city will adhere to "one country, two systems" during the development of the Bay Area and believes that the area will enrich "one country, two systems."

She was speaking at the second plenary meeting of the leading group for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in Beijing today.

Lam noted that since the release of the development blueprint last month, there had been a lot of discussions and different sectors have reacted positively, forming a good atmosphere to participate in the development of the area.

She added that the government will step up promotion and advance the development of the area with a spirit of "driving nails [perseverance, precision, the ability and willingness to act right away]."
