McDonald's ditches plastic straws

Local | 20 Dec 2018 5:49 pm

McDonald's Hong Kong expects a 30 percent reduction in single-use plastic over a year when it stops providing straws for most drinks at its outlets from Christmas eve, as a part of its continuing initiatives.

Diners will be given wooden stirrers for some drinks at McDonald's and McCafe outlets.

This move follows the "No Straw Monday” campaign that began in September.

The American fast-food chain stopped using styrofoam containers in the third quarter.
