DAB lawmaker Elizabeth Quat today called on the ICAC to investigate "leaks" surrounding the anti-graft body's own corruption investigations.
Quat raised the issue in Legco, accusing Democratic Party lawmaker Lam Cheuk-ting and the party's former lawmaker Albert Ho of divulging confidential information on ICAC inquiries.
"The ICAC is a very important organisation for Hong Kong because we want to keep the ICAC as professionals and high-status and be trusted by Hong Kong citizens," Quat said.
"The ICAC must treat it very seriously to make sure that no-one from the ICAC can leak insider information to any outsider."
Quat added that these "leaks" frequently come through Lam, who is a former ICAC investigator. She said he likes to makes announcements on cases to the media.
"He talks about he has got insider information from the ICAC, including names, what kind of cases, who they have been talking to. This is very important information that should not be leaked to any outsider."-RTHK
