FPS resumed at 1pm Sunday after suspensionFinance | 17 Oct 2021 12:20 pm
The Faster Payment System (FPS) service has resumed at 1pm Sunday after its suspension in the morning.
Hong Kong Monetary Authority said the electronic system was unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances encountered in a planned system maintenance which involves a system relocation and upgrade, carried out by the Hong Kong Interbank Clearing, the operator of the FPS.
All FPS services, including real-time fund transfers and registration of account proxy with the FPS, were unavailable.
The system maintenance period was originally scheduled from 2:45 am to 7:45 am Sunday. But it required an extension upon triggering of a fall back arrangement as the system relocation and upgrade cannot be completed as planned.
Service has resumed at 1pm Sunday.
