Cathay Pacific adds UK, US, and mainland flights

Cathay Pacific Airways (0293) said it is continuing to add more passenger flights to the Chinese mainland, UK and US in June.

London frequencies will be increased to serve students returning to Hong Kong.

Last month, the airline flew 24,006 passengers, an increase of 30 percent year-on-year, but a 99.2 percent drop from the pre-pandemic level in May, 2019.

The month’s revenue passenger kilometres increased by 24.5 pecent year-on-year, but were down by 98.9 percent versus May, 2019.

Passenger load factor dropped by 2.9 percentage points to 26.7 percent, while capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, increased by 38 percent, but remained 96.5 percent down on May, 2019 levels.

The airline carried 92,394 tons of cargo and mail last month, a drop of 6.4 percent, from May, 2020.
