HK, China shares close higher

The benchmark Hang Seng Index gained by  121.75 points, or 0.43 percent, at 28,558.59 although the Federal Reserve signaled a faster-than-expected pace of policy tightening.

Haidilao International (6862) fell by 3.68 percent to HK$37.95, the worst performer among blue chips. The top gainer among blue chips was BYD (1211), which gained by 8.25 percent, at HK$223.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index added 7.28 points, or 0.21 percent, at 3,525.60, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index was up by 26.98 points, or 1.16 percent, at 2,359.40.
