Hong Kong stocks dipped on Monday. Gains for consumer firms were offset by losses for financial and IT companies, as investors reacted to mixed China trade data, Reuters reports.
At the close of trade, the Hang Seng index was down by 130.82 points or 0.45 percent at 28,787.28. The Hang Seng China Enterprises index fell by 0.53 percent, at 10,748.2.
The sub-index of the Hang Seng tracking consumer staples added 1.2 percent, the IT sector lost 0.92 percent, while the financial sector ended 0.44 percent lower.
The top gainer on the Hang Seng was WH Group, which gained by 7.71 percent, while the biggest loser was Geely Automobile Holdings, which shed 5.17 percent.
