Towngas says no plans to raise chargesBusiness | 2 Jun 2021 3:28 pm
Alfred Chan Wing-kin, managing director of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company (0003), said the company has no plan to raise fees this year, as the unemployment rate remains high and the catering industry is struggling.
First-quarter Hong Kong gas sales dropped by 1.8 percent from a year ago, mainly affected by weather, Chan said. The pandemic has little impact on the firm's business, as the increase in residential gas demand offset the loss in the commercial sector.
Towngas will also launch incentives to help boost local vaccination rates.
