Gold was little changed on Friday but was set to post a third straight weekly gain after U.S. President Joe Biden's proposal to raise capital gains tax weighed on U.S. Treasury yields, while a weaker dollar also supported, Reuters reports.
Spot gold was steady at US$1,783.24 per ounce by 0723 GMT. The metal jumped to its highest since February 25 at US$1,797.67
on Thursday, and has added about 0.4 percent so far this week.
U.S. gold futures added 0.2 percent at US$1,785.60 per ounce.
