Hang Seng gains, China stocks steady
Business | 8 Apr 2021 12:18 pmThe Hang Seng Index climbed by 238.7 points or 0.83 percent, at 28,913.5 in the morning, led by financial shares.
Among blue-chip stocks, AIA (1299) advanced by 5.36 percent at HK$98.35, the best performer. HSBC (0005) added 0.98 percent at HK$46.35.
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing was up by 2 percent. China Resources Land (1109) was the worst performer among blue-chips, down by 1.89 percent.
The Hang Seng Tech Index also advanced by 0.47 percent at 8,491.67. Tencent (0700) fell by 1.27 percent to HK$624.
The Standard Channel 
In mainland China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was up by 0.19 percent at 3,486.19, while the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index inched up by 0.21 percent at 2,262.96.
