The UK pound has dropped by three-quarters of a cent against the US dollar to US$1.394, away from the three-year highs seen this week of over US$1.42.
Sterling has also dropped by half a eurocent against the euro, to 1.147 euro, having hit a one-year high of 1.17 euro earlier this week.
