Dow bounces by 400 points

U.S. stocks climbed on Thursday following a sharp sell-off on Wall Street that saw the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average suffer their worst drop in three months.

The S&P 500 won 1.2 percent, led by health care and utilities, while the blue-chip Dow gained 400 points, or 1.3 percent. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite climbed by  0.7 percent.
