U.S. stocks climbed on Thursday following a sharp sell-off on Wall Street that saw the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average suffer their worst drop in three months, CNBC reports.
The S&P 500 gained by 0.7 percent, while the blue-chip Dow gained by 250 points, or 0.8 percent. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite climbed by 0.6 percent.
In premarket trading, futures climbed to their highs as GameStop, a highly speculative name that had rocketed higher amid retail buying frenzy, started to roll over.
