Hong Kong blue chips are lower today. The benchmark Hang Seng Index retreated by 165.74 points, or 0.67 percent, at 24,724.94 after sharp gains yesterday.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index fell by 0.53 percent at 3,322.70. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index dropped by 0.60 percent at 2,229.96.
