Mandatory provident fund consultancy Gain Miles reported a gain of HK$8,712 per person on average in June but year-to-date, each person lost HK$5,275. As of June 30,
The Gain Miles MPF performance index climbed by nine points to 224 points. The consultancy said the market had not been affected by the second wave of virus infections.
US stock funds were the best performer, with a 14.9 percent increase. Hong Kong stock funds followed with a gain of 9 percent in June.
Among the three major indices, the share fund index inched up by 19 points to 300 points; the mixed-asset fund index was up by 8 points to 216 points; and the fixed income fund added one point to 127 points.
For the first two months, the Gain Miles MPF performance index lost 4.68 percent. Among the three major indices, the share fund index fell by 7.14 percent; the mixed-asset fund index dropped by 5.42 percent; and the fixed income fund edged up by 0.6 percent.
