Pachinko hall operator Dynam Japan (6889) said net profit for the year ended March 31 increased by 1.2 percent year-on-year to 12.74 billion yen (HK$908 million).
Revenue fell by 3 percent to 141.9 billion yen from a year before.
The basic earnings per share were 16.6 yen. Dynam declared a final dividend of 3 yen per share.
Revenue for high playing cost halls fell by 4.8 percent year-on-year to 69.6 billion yen due to a drop in gross pay-ins. Revenue for low playing cost halls fell by 1.3 percent to 72.3 billion yen. It operates 174 high playing cost halls and 274 low playing cost halls, with low playing cost halls accounting for 61 percent of all halls.
The suspended operation of pachinko halls had material adverse effects on the group’s financial condition and operations after April, the company said. Local governments in Japan requested entertainment facilities, including pachinko halls to suspend due to the coronavirus outbreak. Dynam Japan said 45 pachinko halls are suspended as of May 25.
