Shares slipped in Asia on Friday as tensions flared between the U.S. and China and as more job losses compounded the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.
Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell to 20,462.11 and the Kospi in South Korea lost 1.4 percent at 1,969.77. In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 declined 0.5 percent at 5,525.30. Shares also fell in Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
On Wall Street, the S&P 500 gave up 0.8 at 2,948.51 on Thursday after the White House issued a report attacking Beijing's economic policies and human rights violations.
